47scapes was founded by Peter Liu, a veteran of the IT industry for over 40 years. He began as “cable-puller” under the raised floor boards of a mainframe server room during his freshmen year at a liberal arts college, and was a systems programmer using IBM Assembler by the time he graduated (by the skin of his teeth) with a degree in Anthropology.

In the years that followed, his career took him on a wild ride from various mainframe systems to Unix, to the Internet, and eventually to the World Wide Web at a company called Netscape, which had brought the commercial browser to the world.

Along the way, Peter became well-versed in various aspects of the computer industry, from programming, to technical support, to marketing and customer services. He began building websites in the 1990’s and when he discovered WordPress around 2010, he never looked back. The power and flexibility of WordPress blended with the length and breadth of Peter’s accumulated career experiences made for a unique and formidable combination.
